At some point in our lives, we have all had a moment where innate wisdom just appeared out of nowhere. We experience a knowingness that cannot be explained with the mind. This intuition is the ability to understand something instinctively, without any need for conscious reasoning. We all have this power whether we believe it exists or not. What can be difficult is to actually trust it.
This can happen when we are making a decision and our mind is reasoning one way, but our gut is pointing in the opposite direction. It can be hard to listen to the gut and disregard reason and logic, strangely enough it is only when we surrender and trust in this intuitive wisdom that we allow the synchronicities of life to unfold and give us exactly what we need.
Just like with our intuition, going within to gain clarity on our mental, physical and emotional issues can be the best guidance. Our body and inner wisdom are intelligent enough to give us the inner understanding we need to heal, grow and develop in our life. To move towards wholeness.
Often this unconscious wisdom can be clouded by our ego, clouded by the character that we are identified with, clouded by our personas. Tapping into that innate wisdom sometimes can take some work, because we need to step behind our conditioned behaviours and programmes.
This is what breathwork allows us to do.
The type of breathwork workshops we hold at Sanya are based on the fundamental principle that we have the answers inside of us.
This type of breathing technique uses breath and music to allow participants to have their ego conscious mind die down so one can have direct access to an inner wisdom and guidance that we normally have limited access to.
The breathwork utilises the remarkable healing and transformative potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness. These states awaken a rich array of experiences with unique healing potential—reliving childhood memories, infancy, birth and prenatal life, and elements from the historical and archetypal realms of the collective unconscious. Induced by very simple means—a combination of accelerated breathing, evocative music, and bodywork in a safe and supportive setting.
A breathwork session usually lasts between 2-3 hours per breather. There are two roles, one of the breather and one of the sitter. The sitter, sits beside the breather, holding space and taking care of them. This can be the first time that this person has ever sat in one place being present for another human being, albeit a powerful experience. The breather starts by following a guided breathing technique and then through the process the inner guidance takes over.
It is always a unique and individual experience for each one of us. During the session the breather is encouraged to move around, make any release sounds if wanted and release emotions. They are invited to allow and surrender to whatever wants to come up from their inner being, welcome it, recognise it and let go.
We have been conditioned to believe that when something is off in our health that there is something wrong with our body, but actually these are signs, opportunities to listen to what this ailment is trying to communicate to us. Because we have the innate wisdom to know what can be best for us, we just need some guidance to reconnect to it.
If you are curious to try this for yourself, our next breathwork workshop at Sanya is taking place on the 19th February 2022 at 10:30 – 18:00. Price is eur60. You can read more and book your spot here.
