I became interested in holistic health after experiencing my first sugar detox many moons ago. It completely changed my understanding of the role nutrition plays in mental health and physical wellbeing. I felt happy for no reason, my skin became soft and smooth, I had huge amounts of energy, I slept better. I felt amazing and I felt intrigued. I never would have imagined, back then, to what extent the food we eat and lifestyle we lead can affect how we feel and how we perceive the world. This motivated me to begin my studies in nutrition. I graduated with a B.Sc in nutrition with the University of Malta in 2017 and a year later from my Masters in Holistic Nutrition with the California Institute of Integrated Sciences, where I studied with Dr Gabriel Cousens (renown for healing type 2 diabetes through fasting). In my masters I had learnt the basics of Ayurveda and always loved it. Over the years whenever I had minor health complaints it was always Ayurveda that would finally work. So a couple years later I decided to go back to school once again to finally become an Ayurvedic Practitioner with the Yoga Veda Institute. In my sessions I aim to bridge east and west bringing the best mixture of modern science and time tested wisdom from the past.
